Eero Saarinen for Knoll Womb Chair & Ottoman
Designed in 1948 by Eero Saarinen at Florence Knoll's request for a chair she could curl up in, the iconic Womb chair and ottoman are mid-century classics. Made of molded fiberglass with chrome-plated steel legs, these pieces are upholstered in their original Knoll Textiles' "Parallax/Fireworks." Manufacturer's tags are located on the underside. Very good condition. H 35.5", W 40", D 34"
Innovative both visually and from a structural perspective, Eero Saarinen's Womb chair and ottoman are considered cultural icons. Often imitated, this chair and ottoman produced in the late 1990s are modernist classics at home in both contemporary and traditional settings.
