Set of Six Franco Campo & Carlo Graffi Stacking Chairs
This set of six wicker stacking chairs were made in Italy by Franco Campo and Carlo Graffi in the 1950s. The seats are constructed of wicker and supported by lacquered steel rods. Lightweight and comfortable, these chairs can be moved easily. Good condition. H 30", W 18 1/4", D 18". Seat height: 18"
During the 1950s, Graffi and Campo design customized interiors and furniture working with decorators, shops, and private clients. Inspired by the city of Turin, their later furniture pieces became more rigid and sculptural, emphasizing the joints and the construction of the forms. In 1956, Campo and Graffi opened their groundbreaking furniture atelier Home. This proved to be a successful venture, with locations in both Genoa and Rome. Their collaboration ended when the Home factory burnt down in 1964.
