Paul McCobb wanted to make the strategic shift from a European inspired modernism to a new contemporary America. In his time, McCobb’s name became “synonymous with sleek, uncluttered and modular design” (New York Times, 3/12/69). McCobb's work can be found in public museum collections, including at Brooklyn Museum, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, Cleveland Museum of Art, and Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum.
