Robert Maxwell (1930-2020) Large Vase
This stoneware vase has a soft glaze that graduates from a green base to a blue and purple tinged hue. This glazed stoneware vase is signed on the underside. Pristine Condition. H 9 1/4", D 7"
Probably best-known for the stoneware animal sculptures he produced in the 1960s in Venice, California, Maxwell was an accomplished potter across the medium. Maxwell produced small handcrafted vases and later collaborated with fellow ceramicist David Cressey on large scale contemporary planters.
